Happy Thursday Grat-i-tude Posse! I hope everybody's week is going wonderfully. The weekend is just around the corner and I wanted to give you some positive things to listen to as you wrap up your work week. I have podcasts, Ted talks, and playlists. Here we go!
#FeelGoodFriday Playlist on Spotify -
This is the perfect playlist for bringing up your mood and pumping your day full of positivity. It is a great mix between classics and new music and is guaranteed to put you in a good mood. This playlist features happiness hits such as Walking on Sunshine by Katrina & The Waves, Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison and Wonderwall by Oasis and new hits like Steal my Sunshine by Len and Walking on a Dream by Empire of the Sun. Basically it is one song that will make you want to jump around and dance after another.
Lava Station on Pandora -
This playlist is great for keeping you calm and bringing you down if you are upset, angry, or frustrated, but it is also great at setting the mood for your day. It has a lot of Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Bob Marley and features songs such as "Don't Worry Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin. The title song Lava is from a Pixar short about two volcanos who fell in love. Yup, you read that right. You can hear it here. If you listen to the lyrics they are so sweet.
The Blessing and the Burden by Joel Osteen -
This podcast will emphasize the importance of appreciating the now. This is what Gratitude is all about! What are you grateful for right now at this very moment? No seriously, what? If you've read some of my previous blog posts this might be an easier task than for others. Think about the clothes that are covering your body, the food that is nourishing your body, the love of others, having others to love. I could do this for hours. Part of the reason I could do this for hours is that I have begun to surround myself with positivity and gratitude. This is my way of showing the universe what I want and it seems to be sending me more and more of it! Little reminders like this 30 minute podcast are great for watering that seed of gratitude we all have in us.
The Power of Vulnerability by Brene Brown -
I heard about this Ted Talk from a coworker who is equally obsessed with Ted Talks as I am. Shout out to Meygan! Let's start with, Brene Brown is wonderful. A regular on Oprah, she is very intelligent, but is somehow able to express her thoughts in a way every day people can understand. This Ted Talk is a perfect example. I found it easy to relate to her in this video, because she went out of her way to make herself relatable. This is a wonderful Ted Talk that makes you feel better as a person and like you can relate to your fellow man a little bit better.
Today I am Grateful for:
- Beautiful May Days in Nebraska
- A new Standing Desk at work
- My husband having summers off of work
- New indoor plants - Bonsai!
