Summer 2016 Gratitude Challenge: Week 4

This is the final week of the Summer Gratitude Challenge! Personally this has been a great exercise in stretching my mind daily to focus on gratitude and to not gravitate towards the same genres of items. With that in mind the last week of the Summer Gratitude Challenge is a hodge podge of categories. Also, it is 9 days instead of 7 to incapsulate the entire month of June.

This week's tip:

Remember that like yoga or mediation, gratitude is a practice. You will not encounter somebody who has mastered it and you will not get to that point either because there is always some way to improve and part of gratitude is its ever changing nature. So the only person you should ever compare yourself to is yourself from yesterday, or last month or last year, and that is only to see how far you have come.

Let's get out there and rock week 4!

1. On Instagram follow me @KatePSierra, check in daily for new daily challenges. Either comment with what you are grateful for or post a picture for what you are grateful for and tag @KatePSierra and #KSGratitude

2. On the blog. Comment on each week's blog with what you are grateful for.

3. You can also participate privately by either merely thinking about or meditating on what you are grateful for OR write down what you are grateful for in a gratitude journal, in your daily planner, or on a napkin.

The most important thing is that you are actively practicing gratitude everyday although writing down your gratitude helps in keeping yourself accountable and helps you notice trends in what you are grateful for.

WEEK 4 IS A GRAB BAG OF CATEGORIES, SO BUCKLE IN.

--Maybe it’s a niece’s birthday, your locals farmer’s market, or a concer

--Is it a quiet coffee shop where you can get some piece, or your place of worship, maybe it’s your garage where you can work on your craft, or curled up on the coach spending time with your spouse, or even outside of your kid’s school where you get to see them excited to see you 5 days a wee

--Think your go to’s like favorite jeans, hats, socks, underwear or that dress that makes you feel like a rock star or the shoes that make you feel like you own the ground you walk o

--Think hunger, thirst, love, shelter, mobility, sense

--Sight, sound, touch, smell, tast

--Tag them here! It could be somebody you talk to everyday or somebody you've never met, living or dead.

--The cigarette you quit two days ago, the pint of Ben & Jerry’s (one tub = one serving, right?), your guilty pleasure TV show, or the game you have on your phone that you play ALL…DAY…LONG, we know you’re over there Candy Crushing as I write this.

--The last minute trip to San Fran anybody? Or maybe a night out with the girls, or a hike through the mountains, or even the adventure that is encouraging you to save your money so you can take it one day.

--It's time to free-style. You have practiced gratitude daily for 29 days! Wow! Today let your mind wander, what rises to the top?

Congratulations you completed 30 days of gratitude! I want you to jot down how you feel right in this moment. How was your experience over the last 30 days? Did you find yourself searching for things throughout your day to be grateful for? I know I was!

Thank you so much for taking this journey with me. On June 30th I will post a compilation of all of the challenges so you can repeat this challenge whenever you want. In the mean time, if you want to revisit the previous 3 weeks. Check them out here.
